Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The purpose is to provide graduates with practical workplace experience, bridging the gap between academic theory and professional practice to enhance their long-term employability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Investigations and Design:
· Conduct nanomaterial synthesis and characterization.
· Perform system integration and contribute to prototype design
· Collaborate with the project team to produce accurate and actionable technical designs and reports.
Contract and Project Management Assistance:
· Support effective project management by tracking progress and maintaining detailed records.
· Work closely with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, health, and regulatory standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Assist in the preparation of detailed progress reports to provide updates on technical activities, challenges, and achievements.
· Document all observations and technical findings for reference and audit purposes.
Capacity Building and Skill Development:
· Leverage on technical learning opportunities to build expertise in health and environmental safety.
· Collaborate with team members to develop innovative approaches for efficient project execution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (NQF level 7) degree in Chemistry/Chemical engineering.
- Excellent academic record: 60% average

SALARY PACKAGE: R166 920.00 CTC per annum non-negotiable
This opportunity is open to South African citizens only. Successful candidates must arrange their own accommodation close to Mintek, and must make their own travel arrangements to get to Mintek. Candidates must be willing to undergo psychometric testing.
