Job description
On-Site Project Monitoring:
· Act as the Employer's Agent's Assistant (Assistant Resident Engineer) on-site for the mine rehabilitation projects.
· Conduct routine inspections to ensure that rehabilitation activities align with project specifications and timelines.
Technical Investigations and Design:
· Conduct site investigations to gather necessary data for rehabilitation designs.
· Collaborate with the project team to produce accurate and actionable technical designs and reports.
Contract and Project Management Assistance:
· Support effective project management by tracking progress and maintaining detailed records.
· Work closely with contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Assist in the preparation of detailed progress reports to provide updates on site activities, challenges, and achievements.
· Document all observations and technical findings for reference and audit purposes.
Capacity Building and Skill Development:
· Leverage on-site learning opportunities to build expertise in mine rehabilitation and environmental safety.
· Collaborate with team members to develop innovative approaches for efficient project execution.
Minimum requirements
· A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (NQF level 7) degree in Civil Engineering.
· Excellent academic record: 60% average
