Introduction
Mintek has an exciting opportunity for a Candidate Engineer who is experienced in the field of advanced process control systems with a specific focus on milling and flotation control onsite installations. Needs to exercise a high degree of judgement, creativity and foresight.
Job description
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Follows the leadership and guidance of other scientists/engineers in undertaking his/her assignments.
- Establish specifications, improve workflows, and introduce operating procedures – project level.
- Execute process control installations under supervision, both locally and internationally, in which interactions with clients and technical expertise are required at a professional level.
- Provide clients with basic training.
- Ensure that projects are executed on time and within budget.
- Ensure that QES procedures are strictly adhered to and that project work is executed with maximum overall technical efficiency.
- Actively participate in team debates and technical decisions.
- Produce professional reports, papers and presentations at local and international conferences.
- Keep up to date at a professional level with technology and business developments that are relevant to the division’s interests.
Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Candidate Implementation Engineer: [degree in progress or just completed] BSc. or BEng. Chemical or Electrical.
- Good grades (>70%) in Process Control and Process Modelling modules.
- Must be willing to travel locally and internationally, and work with minimal supervision.
- The following skills/knowledge will be advantageous.
- Final year project in process control or process modelling.
- Computer programming (e.g. Matlab, C , C# or Python).
