The Organisational Development Specialist is responsible for providing leadership, direction, guidance, support, advice to business in support of key strategic deliverables. Develop, implement programmes to facilitate org improvement. Responsible for L&D.
Job description

KEY PERFOMANCE INDICATORS:
 
 Organisational Development
  • Interpret business strategy; create, implement OD programmes to connect employees with business strategy
  • Identify, implement, evaluate specific project and process plans to meet requirements of human capital strategic plans now and into the future to align with the changing
world
  • of work
  • Deliver and/or partner with relevant stakeholders to implement organisational effectiveness programmes
  • Create, conduct surveys to evaluate effectiveness of interventions; enhance employee engagement
  • Design, implement relevant models and frameworks for use in Mintek, e.g. leadership, competency, change management, root cause analysis etc
  • Stay up-to-date with OD trends, assess impact on Mintek org effectiveness; benchmark Mintek organisational effectiveness, human resource capacity, with relevant
organisations nationally and 'best-practices' internationally

Organisational Design
  • Analysis of organisational structures, responsibilities, team work, business and/or operating procedures, reporting relationships and work process to design efficient methods of accomplishing work.
  • Ensure job profiling, evaluation and grading approaches are fit for purpose and support organisational effectiveness
  • Design and development of executive and key skills retention strategies and programmes
  • Ensure compensation and benefits strategies and programmes support organisational effectiveness objectives
 
Change Management

  • Develop change management programmes to support the implementation of new initiatives; train on change management; inculcate a culture of change readiness
  • Partner with stakeholders in the management, implementation of changes as required in business operations
  • Work with HR team to design, facilitate participatory processes for the development of strategic plans for OD
  • Review, recommend changes to relevant HR policies, procedures before expiry date and as need arises

 Learning & Development (L&D)
  • In partnership with relevant stakeholders, identify performance gaps, determine learning and development needs
  • Design, and/or source L&D programmes for non-SET staff that meet business needs now and in the future, taking into account the changing world of work
  • Ensure compliance with Skills Development legislation
  • Develop or source team development programmes to promote collaboration and team effectiveness
  • Develop or source coaching and mentoring capacity to support employee, leadership development, transformation
 
 Resource management
  • Manage the daily activities of direct reports
  • Prepare, monitor and maintain budgets, forecasts, analyse variances
  • Develop, implement operational plan; provide audit information and ensure proper controls are in place
  • Set, monitor and measure performance goals and objectives; provide feedback and guidance to staff
  • Instill a strong customer focused mind-set within the team to ensure adherence to SLAs
  • Identify, implement special projects to improve operations
 


 




Minimum requirements

  • Min: Masters in Industrial Psychology
  • Registered Psychometrist preferable
  • 8 – 10 years’ experience or more working in HR/OD
  • Experience in delivering changes which impact on organisational effectiveness.
  • Experience in Workforce planning and employee relations
  • HR strategy/HR risk/HR technology/metrics experience
  • Policy and procedure writing
  • Employment legislation experience
  • People / change management experience
  • Business writing skills
  • Project management experience
