Job description
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Leadership
- Live the Mintek values, foster a culture of collaboration within Mintek.
- Create an environment for the division to succeed and manage outputs.
- Maintain consistently visible leadership.
- Lead HRD.
- Drive standardisation, automation, and process optimisation to improve service quality and turnaround times.
Strategy
- Drive the Human Resource Division strategy and operations, and develop plans for the implementation of the strategy.
- Provide strategic leadership in the continuous management of performance, Human Resource information and remuneration systems.
Financial Sustainability
- Deliver user-friendly, cost effective administrative and transactional business and employee support services.
- Annual expenditure budget of R20m.
- Must be able to apportion expenditure accurately and correctly according to funding source (Science Vote, Mintek or earmarked funds).
Performance Management
- Deliver on the division’s KPI’s.
- Undertake performance management for the Division.
- Ensure that systems and tools are in place to monitor and measure the delivery of the divisional activities.
Governance and Risk Management
- Risk profiling and mitigation activities for the Division’s activities, including SHEQ.
- Accountable for adherence to all Mintek’s policies and ethics within agreed thresholds.
- Implement divisional and Mintek policies.
- Ensure divisional compliance with applicable legislation.
Relationship Management and Reporting
- Ensure the right data is available for accurate and useful reporting, making crucial data available “at the fingertips”.
- Timely providing consolidated monthly and quarterly reports.
- Monitor and report on Divisional performance, including financials.
- Reporting value, ensuring critical issues and key results areas are addressed.
- Stakeholder engagement, including the development of relationships with new stakeholders, stakeholder
management and satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum requirements
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree level Human Resources Management or relevant (NQF – level 9).
- 10 years’ experience on the relevant field of which 5 years must be on management position.
- Good business insight.
- Knowledge of Mintek’s business products and activities.
- A thorough knowledge of PFMA and applicable legislation.
- Report writing skills.
- Policy and procedure writing.
