Mintek has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer. The candidate must ensure all civil works and building infrastructure is maintained in a serviceable state and kept available for use, ensure compliance to SANAS and other relevant standards of new installations. • Plan leave for resources in his section to ensure enough capacity
• Approved leave forms on time
• Plan overtime work
• Write motivations for overtime

• Control budget allocated to his cost centre
• Prioritise planned maintenance to ensure critical items are catered for in the budget
• Control materials and spares issue to minimise wastage

•  Procurement of maintenance spares and tools
• Generate specification for Procurement
• Hold site meetings with suppliers where required
• Liaise with Planning office in expediting orders
• Receive delivered material and spares to ensure they meet the quality specified
•   Participate in tender specifications

• Allocate resources to execute preventive maintenance tasks
• Ensure billable hours are captured on ERP
• Inspect completed work and sign off
• Ensure work carried out meets required quality standards
• Supervise all breakdown repair work, ensure timely execution
• Conduct inspections plant and equipment inspections
• Advise Head and Manager on status of equipment and plant
• Develop maintenance plans for electrical infrastructure
• Manage electrical projects/scope on CMS activities
• Conduct engineering investigations and offer technical solutions

•  Identify skills gap from the subordinates and escalate to Head for planning.
• Perform job observations on subordinates
• Identify training needs of subordinates
• Identify training providers that can address training needs identified

• Identify hazards and mitigating factors associated with work activities
• Conduct risk assessments on all new tasks and dangerous activities
• Issue work permits where required
• Train subordinates on Mintek’s SOPs
• Issue lock-out permits and sign off on completion of task
• Issue subordinates with suitable PPE

• Liaise with Internal clients on issues of maintenance that affect their plant and equipment
• Attend CMS production and client feedback meetings
• Enforce discipline and company policies and procedures in the section
• Act for Head Infrastructure Maintenance in his/her absence
• Assist Approved Inspection Authorities when executing statutory inspections and tests on site
