Introduction
An exciting career opportunity exists for Mintek internal candidates for a Talent Sourcing Specialist position. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations, for overseeing the full recruitment life cycle and guiding the recruiting executives and managers. This role will coordinate all the sourcing activities together with closely, the Talent Sourcing Specialists and line Managers. Is also responsible for creating a strong talent pool of candidates who will be a good fit for the company’s culture. Activities include managing the company's talent pool and various sourcing channels, as well as cultivating trusting relationships with all stakeholders. In addition to that, the incumbent's role will include that of Organisational Development & Culture, where there will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to the company in achieving the strategic goals and improving the performance, culture, and effectiveness through the application of organisational effectiveness principles and practices.
Job description

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
 
Leadership
  • Live the Mintek values, foster a culture of collaboration within Mintek.
  • Create an environment for the Department to succeed and manage outputs.
  • Maintain consistently visible leadership.
  • Lead and manage the Talent Sourcing Specialists and OD & Culture Administrator.

Strategy
  • Support and drive the planning, development, and implementation of divisional strategy.
  • Influence strategic decision making in regards to the divisional plans to support the achievement of the business strategy.
  • Drive the execution of the departmental strategy and operations.
  • Support Mintek transformation agenda and sustainability.

Financial Sustainability
  • Manage and monitor the expenditure of the department.
  • Make effective financial decisions to ensure that the divisional budget targets are met.
 
People (departmental) and Planning
  • Coordinate and manage departmental employees while fostering positive relationships.
  • Ensure the department is adequately resourced with the right skills at all levels.
  • Manage employee career development and learning.
  • Develop a succession plans for the department.
  • Ensure that the department has adequate capacity and capability to support the business.

Planning (Across the Divisions)
Lead and coordinate the workforce planning for the divisions, through the process of analysing, forecasting and planning workforce supply and demand.
Reviewing the current staff, examining current and future capacity and capability needs and identifying gaps between supply and demand for Mintek.

Human Resource Management (OD & Talent Sourcing)
 
Talent sourcing
  • Supervise the recruitment efforts to ensure that the organisation is effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right candidates.
  • Implement the recruitment processes through identifying recruitment needs, develop /update job profiles, advertise, shortlist suitable candidates, conduct panel interviews, select the best candidates, extend the offer and conduct onboarding/induction.
  • Liaison with hiring managers/executives to determine job requirements.
  • Generate candidate pipelines through various recruiting and sourcing methods including, but not limited to searching internet resumé databases and internal sourcing channels.

Organisational Development
  • Change strategy development: create and implement effective change strategies that align with the company’s goals, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption during organisational changes.
  • Performance analysis: analyse organisational performance metrics and identify areas for improvement, collaborating with teams to develop action plans and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Culture enhancement: lead initiatives to shape and evolve the organisational culture, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Employee engagement initiatives: design and execute engagement programs that boost employee morale, job satisfaction and overall engagement levels, contributing to a motivated workforce.
  • Conflict resolution: address conflicts and challenges within the organisation, utilising effective communication and mediation skills to promote resolution and maintain a harmonious workplace.
  • Data-driven insights: utilise data analysis to assess the impact of organisation effectiveness interventions, providing insights that inform decision-making and guide ongoing improvements.
  • Knowledge sharing and training: share expertise and insights through training sessions, experiences and workshops, building internal capacity for organisation development practices among teams and leadership.
 
Performance Management
  • Drive overall performance for the department and contribute to the performance of the organisation
  • Undertake performance management for the Section.
  • Ensure divisional integrity, financial health and control.
  • Demonstrate a solid commitment to innovation and performance improvement.
  • Ensure effective processes, fit-for-use systems and fit-for-purpose tools are in place to support the defined performance levels.
 
Governance, Compliance and Risk Management
  • Govern the implementation of internal controls mechanism.
  • Accountable for adherence to all Mintek’s policies and ethics within agreed thresholds.
  • Implement divisional and Mintek policies.
  • Accountable for effective risk management within the Section including SHEQ.
  • Ensure divisional compliance with applicable legislation relevant to South African labour legislation (BCEA, EEA, LRA, OHSA, SDA, SDL, BBBEE and POPIA)
 
Relationship Management
  • Establish, manage and maintain relationships with all Mintek stakeholders concerning ongoing divisional support delivery.
  • Establish and develop relations with the internal and external service providers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Balance the conflicting pressures and needs, including short and long-term trade-offs for Division and Mintek.
  • Ensure client (internal and external) satisfaction as per agreed targets.
 
Reporting
  • Ensure the right data is available for accurate and useful reporting, making crucial data available “at the fingertips”.
  • Timely providing consolidated monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Monitor and report on departmental performance, including financials.
  • Reporting value, ensuring critical issues and key results areas are addressed.
  • Reporting on all departmental activities.
  • Monitor and report divisional risk exposures in all aspects, including SHEQ.

Minimum requirements

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 - 10 years’ experience on the relevant field
  • Supervisory experience will be an advantage.
  • Understanding of OD and Change Management Processes
  • HR generalist exposure, operating at a skilled level, with full competence in all areas of the HR value chain.
  • HR Best Practices, HR Information Systems, HR Legislation.
  • OD processes and also Talent Sourcing Strategies.
 
COMPETENCIES

Talent Sourcing
  • Ability to develop Labour Market intelligence and Candidate mapping lists for targeted skills.
  • Experience in working with large applicant tracking tools.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Able to source candidates in hard-to-find skill areas.
 
Organisational Development
  • Expertise in designing and implementing impactful organisational development and culture strategies.
  • Extensive experience collaborating within various divisions - teamwork.
  • Mastery in program and project management.
  • Proven track record of crafting and executing effective organisational effectiveness, culture change and change management strategies.
  • Understanding of learning and talent management principles across the talent lifecycle.
  • Proficient in managing budgets, vendor relationships and strategic partnerships.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Masters of Commerce /Masters in Administration/ Human Resource Management/ Industrial Psychology /Organisational Behaviour or related studies ( NQF Level 9)
 
Ideal (additional to the minimum requirements)
Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies /Business Administration (multi-disciplinary view).
